It was announced, during a joint launching of the program between BDO and the BVI Football Association last Friday, that over 550 boys and girls from throughout the territory, are scheduled to participate in the BDO 2012 Schools Football League.
In addition to supporting Football, BDO, which has also been a proud supporter of many youth events in the territory, including basketball camps put on by the BVI Hoop-It-Up Foundation, athletic meets, Kids and the Sea (KATS) and Makos Swim Club, is making its biggest contribution, with a $20,000 investment in the 2012 Schools Football League.
Accompanied by BDO and BVIFA officials during Friday’s press conference, Ryan Geluk, Director at BDO, presented the $20,000 check to Avanell ‘Clarky’ Morton, BVIFA Administration Secretary responsible for youth, to assist the Association with costs of uniforms, awards, coaches, etc. required to operate the league.
The BDO 2012 Schools Football League, which also involves public and private high schools, will kick off at 3 pm. from the Road Town Ferry Dock, with teams marching to the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds for the opening ceremony.
