The British Virgin Islands will join its Caribbean neighbors in celebrating Caribbean Tourism day Tuesday, November 2. The theme will be One Sea, One Voice, One Caribbean.

The objectives of Caribbean Tourism Day are to raise awareness among Caribbean people on the importance of tourism in the Caribbean, to enhance the profile of the Caribbean Tourism sector in the marketplace, to reflect on the invaluable impact of tourism on the economic, social and cultural well being in the Caribbean and to attract positive media coverage of the Caribbean.

According to 2.BVIPlatinum.com, the BVI Tourist Board will celebrate the day by
1) Decorating all ports of entry in CTO colors
2) Providing Caribbean music at the Terrance B. Lettsome Airport and the Road Town harbor ports of entry
3) Presenting tourists with a welcome gift at each port of entry in an effort to highlight the country’s gratitude for their choosing the BVI as their destination of choice to spend their vacation.

The celebrating of Caribbean Tourism Day will also serve as a launching pad for the upcoming Tourism Week slated for November 22nd to 26th
