Last Sunday saw the 2012 BDO Schools Football League finals day and awards ceremony taking place at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds.
The event began with Enid Scatliffe Blue facing Seventh Day Adventist, in an Under 7s exhibition match.
This was followed by, Althea Scatliffe vs Joyce Samuels in the Under 12s Playoff for third and fourth place. Then First Impressions vs Cedar Blue in the Under 9s final, and First Impressions facing Cedar School in the Under 12s final.
In a nail-biting Under 12s final, Leo Forte had scored early in the first half for Cedar School, but with Cedar increasingly confident of a win, First Impressions’ Gillaume Parkins equalized in the second half just minutes before the end of the match.
With no goals in the extra time, it was all down to the penalties, and First Impressions beat Cedar 3-2.
Earlier, the younger First Impressions team routed Cedar School Blue, who were missing several starters, in a 4-0 victory for the Under 9 title.
