The BVI Football Association has set the stage for what they hope would be the return of Beach Soccer to Tortola this Easter Monday. The action will kickoff at 12 noon and will run until 6.30 p.m.
All matches will be five-a-side and played in three categories: Under 10s, Under 14s, and Adults. The children tournament is sponsored by Gatorade, and the adults tournament by Heineken through their local distributors.
The adults will play for the championship trophy and prize money of $300, $200, and $100 for first, second and third place finishes. The children will play for trophies as well as sponsors’ products, watches and other gifts. Food, drinks, and music will be available in what promises to be great fun for the entire family.
President Mr. Andrew Bickerton sees beach soccer not only developing for the benefit of players and tournaments, but for the benefit of the BVI tourism. The President went on to say that the BVI has the advantage of sun, sea, sand, and soccer that visitors will love to experience.
The B.V.I Football Association invites all to Brandywine Bay as they seek to restore beach soccer for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
